Dedication

Sunday February 9th
St John's Church, Tisbury

The service will start at 3pm, please could everyone arrange to arrive in plenty of time:

  • We are expecting the church to be very full, so please give yourselves time to find a seat.

  • The church car park will be reserved for invited guests and disabled parking only. There is a free car park off the Avenue and the station car park is only a short walk away.

The service is expected to last about 70 minutes, after which we will be serving teas and cake in the Hinton Hall. The hall has limited space. There will be some seating for those who need it most, but we hope there will be a rotation as many of you spend some time looking at the window!

We are extremely honoured that His Majesty the King has expressed interest in our East Window. He would have wished to attend the dedication but unfortunately has other engagements on that date. He has asked the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Dame Sarah Troughton DCVO, to represent him at the service.

Peal of Bells

As part of the celebrations the bells at St John’s will be rung for a full peal on Saturday 8th February. They will start around 10am and it will last for about 3 hours.

I hope to record some minutes of them, to add to the website.

Zoom Link

The service will be streamed live via zoom. The stream will start at 2.30pm to give people time to get everything set up.

The camera will be set to see the main altar and pulpit. The dedication in the St Andrew’s Chapel will also be videoed but will not be seen live. Recordings will be added to the website, hopefully straight after the service..

I will test the link when It goes live. If there are any problems I will make a new link and publish it here. If you are experiencing any issues, please check back to this page just in case.

There is also a pamphlet which was made after talking with Tom which has photographs and text explaining his inspiration for the various narratives in the window. You can see it online - click the image below:
